The discarded bits. The offcuts. The scribbled text on the postbox that nobody notices.
That's my medium. Not paint. Not stone. The unintended.
I find something interesting and obsess over it, I play with it, poke it with a stick until it moves. Then I start making. I don't know where it's going until it gets there. No brief. No plan. Just make, play, explore, observe, repeat.
Here, you're not looking at a finished thing. You're observing its life cycle. The process becomes the product.
Why this site exists
Study Frogs is a place to observe art being made — from initial idea to finished thing.
Most of the art-making process is invisible to everyone. The finished thing has to do all the work on its own. Pictures competing with pictures, with no history attached. The motivations, the early explorations. The film you saw that inspired the font. The wrong turn that became the actual idea. All of that evaporates — flattened out by platforms and algorithms that were never built to tell that story.
Process lets you see the full picture.
